The D.L. Forbes Youth Foundation was inspired by the late Elder Demetrius Lotrick Forbes, Sr. While conversing with one of his sons shortly before his death, he shared his vision that he had which involved working with "at risk" youth in the community .

The D.L.Forbes Youth Foundation was birthed out of that vision during the following timelines.
